The Gate Arts Centre, Cardiff

The Gate Arts Centre is a charity acting as the social and cultural centre for the community of Roath, Cardiff. Housed within a beautiful, 100 year old, grade II listed building, The Gate Arts Centre exists to enrich the lives of the people of Cardiff through three clear aims:

Promoting the arts
Developing individuals
Engaging in the Community

As a multi-functional and versatile space, The Gate Arts Centre holds many events such as theatre productions, weddings, live music concerts, classical music concerts, operatic performances as well as conferences. Many of these larger scale events take place in our Grand Theatre. We are committed to supporting amateur dramatics and upcoming musicians. We work to provide a balanced programme which we believe will enrich the community.

Our dance studio accommodates classes such as Ballet, Yoga, Pilates and Contemporary Dance whilst our Café is open for a variety of monthly nights such as Jazz, Philosophy, Theology, Science, Writers and a weekly faith group, Llan.

Although The Gate operates under a Christian ethos we are committed to working with and welcoming people of all faiths and of none.
